Photographing cats or dogs with a flash can cause green/yellow eyes, which are similar to the red-eye seen in humans. To avoid this, use some of the same techniques you use to avoid red-eye, such as bouncing a Speedlight or increasing the light in the room you’re shooting in. Using red eye remover in your photo editing software will not fix it.

Do you “check out” at the words ‘exposure’, ‘aperture’, ‘ISO’ and ’shutter speed?’ If so, I have just the thing for you! I would be honored to spend a Saturday teaching you how to go from taking a simple picture, to understanding the basic concepts of photography, to capturing amazing images of those who mean the most to you! All you need is your dslr camera, a smile, and an eagerness to learn and grow in your photography adventures!

Jack’s Newborn Session

I had the best time photographing baby Jack this past weekend. He was so good. He didn’t even pee on any of the backdrops…lol. I kept him nice and toasty warm with a small heater and a heating pad on each surface. It was like a Heat Wave in his room, but it was nice. He feed in between set changes. Two hour session turned into three because he was just so cute and doing all these little poses on his own. :O) I hope you enjoy these sneak peaks as much as I do!

Don’t force your subject into a pose they are uncomfortable with. It’s often easier if you demonstrate first. So show your subject how to sit, stand or maybe hold their hands in a simple but pleasing way. Better yet, just capture them in a natural pose.

Went shopping today for an upcoming Newborn session for a boy. Here are a few props I picked up for the session. I especially love the baby bunny hat that was crocheted by a local woman. I can wait for this session.
